KARACHI, Dec 13: Seven ships carrying cars, imported wheat, and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six vessels, Dong He, Emerald Sea, Kota Mesra and Hanjin Busan, to unload and load containers, Rickmers New Orleans and Annemieke, to unload and load general cargo were berthed after the departure of eight.
The departing ships were led by Dong He, Sinar Bontang, Kota Mesra, Iran Jahanara, Al-Marwah, Sapanca, Iran Mahallati and Annemieke, while Rickmers New Orleans, Hanjin Busan, Ziang Rui Men, Emerald Sea, Stolt Violet, and Farah-3 are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow and fell to 62,905 tons from well over 0.2m tons. The export tonnage of 18,941 tons comprised 8,467 tons of rice and 824 tons of cement, while import tonnage amounted to 43,984 tons.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Koriana, Basa Veshwara, to load 35,000 and 12,000 tons of naphtha, Hyundai Future, Y.M. Star, with containers, European Highway, with cars, Rambler, with machinery, and Stella Quarta, with 15,500 tons of imported wheat.
