BBC award for Flintoff
LONDON, Dec 12: Andrew Flintoff on Sunday won the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for 2005. He was the favourite to win following his Man-of-the-Series agaomst Australia. Flintoff topped the public poll ahead of his captain Michael Vaughan, Liverpool’s Champions League-winning skipper Steven Gerrard, record-breaking yachtswoman Ellen MacArthur, tennis star Andy Murray and light-welterweight boxing champion Ricky Hatton.—AFP
