PECHS lift title

KARACHI, Dec 12: PECHS College won the Karachi Board Inter-collegiate girls tennis tournament beating DHA College for Women 2-1 in the final played at Sir Syed College court.

The winners dropped the opening set before making a comeback to clinch the following doubles and singles in the final which lasted for about three hours.

Saba gave a winning start to DHA beating Uzma 6-3, 6-3. Uzma and Moazzama neutralised the lead by getting the better of Saba-Hafsa 6-1, 6-6 (11-9). Moazzama sealed the fate inflicting a 6-2, 6-2 defeat on Hafsa.

Meanwhile, the Karachi Board has picked a four-member team for the coming Inter-board girls tennis championship being held at Islamabad from Dec 16.

The team consists of Uzma, Moazzama, Saba and Hafsa. Ms. Gulrukh, DPE of Sir Syed College, will accompany the team as manager.
