Coast guards foil human smuggling bid

QUETTA, Dec 11: A coast guard unit on Saturday busted a human smuggling racket and arrested 30 persons. Eighteen of those detained were trying to cross into Pakistan from Iran near the town of Kumb. Among those detained were Afghans and Bangladeshis.

The arrests were made during a routine check by the Gwadar battalion of the coast guard.

The federal government has instructed officials to take strict action against people involved in human trafficking. In addition, law-enforcement agencies have launched a crackdown on poeple trying to go abroad illegally.

Coast guard units have arrested 44 illegal immigrants over the last five days. –Online/APP
