PESHAWAR, Dec 11: District Nazim Peshawar Haji Ghulam Ali is planning to arrange a visit of Chief Minister NWFP Akram Khan Durrani to the interior of the city to apprise him about civic and traffic problems being faced by people. Talking to the APP, Mr Ali said city dwellers were facing problems like traffic congestion, lack of clean drinking water, poor sanitary conditions, pollution, etc.

He claimed that the chief minister’s visit would help in getting funds released for development and modernization of the city.

He expressed hope that the chief minister would provide help in implementing development plan prepared by the district government for modernization of Peshawar.

The plan for development of Peshawar, he said, envisage construction of 15 underpasses and flyovers from the G.T. Road to Hayatabad, provision of filtered water from the Warsak Dam and construction of a two-way road in the city.—APP
