Bugti’s grandson indicted

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10: The grandson of veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has been indicted in connection with the Nov 15 bomb blast in Karachi that left four people dead and 17 injured. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, the challans presented by the police in the anti-terrorist court reveal that the apprehended culprits Aziz and Mangla Khan had confessed that Sardar Brahmad Khan had called them and told them that “since PPL had not been employing Baloch people it ought to be taught a lesson”.

The accused men decided to explode a powerful bomb in front of PPL’s office in Karachi. It is alleged that Sardar Brahmad provided them with explosives and a car.

In light of this information, the police have declared Sardar Barhamad and another man named Abdul Majeed as fugitives.

The BBC quoted Nawab Akbar Bugti as saying that “since the government ruled the roost” it could declare anybody guilty of anything, or even adduce any kind of statement against or in favour of anybody it wants”.

Mr Bugti told the BBC that his grandson had been around his native village of Dera Bugti and without his knowledge he could never be involved in any such scheme. —Online
