School staff suspended for absence

OKARA, Dec 10: The entire staff of a government school was suspended from service for absence from duty on Saturday. District Officer (education) Rao Muhammad Bahadar paid a surprise visits to various schools and found the entire staff of Government High School, Chaplipur, including headmaster Rab Nawaz Qamar, teachers Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Ashraf, Tabassum Amin, Shahid Malik, Malik Abbas, Muhammad Amin, Nawaz Bhatti, clerk Rana Khalid, naib qasid Muhammad Ashraf, gardener Manzoor Ahmad, absent.

Similarly, the Government High School, Ruknpura, teachers Zulfiqar Ali, Malik Mazhar Iqbal, Allah Ditta, Muhammad Ibrahim, deputy headmaster Iqbal Mukhtar Ahmad, junior clerk Muhammad Arif, gardener Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Aslam, Azhar Iqbal, Raza Shakir, Abbas Attiqur Rehman, naib qasid Abdul Jabbar, Ali Ahmad, and Government High School, Mupalkeys, were also found absent. They had been suspended from service.

ROBBERIES: Robbers took away cash, valuables and mobile phones in two strikes on Saturday.

Police said Dilawar Chaudhry of Chak 14/IAL was going to Deepalpur by his car (LRF/3727) from Okara. When he reached near Pul Sobha Ram on Okara-Deepalpur road, his car was intercepted by four robbers who broke the windscreen of the car and deprived him of cash and a cell phone.

Later, they deprived the passengers of a wagon of their cash and other valuables.

Meanwhile, five gunmen entered the house of Abdul Sattar in village Rajowal where a marriage ceremony was being held and deprived the participants of cash and gold ornaments worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
