Turkey’s relief efforts praised

PESHAWAR, Dec 10: Acting Governor Justice Tariq Parvez Khan has said that the spirit of brotherhood shown by the world in mitigating the miseries of the quake-affected people has brought us closer to each other. Talking to a 28-member Turkish delegation, comprising industrialists and traders who called on him at the Governor’s House on Saturday, Justice Khan said that the people of Turkey had played an exemplary role and contributed a lot towards the rescue and relief operation in the quake-hit areas.

He said that both the countries were enjoying warm relations since long and they had always proved their brotherhood and deep bonds of friendship at every hour of need.

The governor praised the role of the Turkish people in promoting quality education world over and hoped that their intention to contribute for the establishment of educational institutions in the quake-affected areas and the provincial metropolis would definitely be welcomed at every level.

The leader of Turkish delegation said that they consider Pakistanis as their brothers and therefore rushed to help quake victims.

He said that the delegates were mostly from industrial and business concerns dealing with civil engineering, mineral-based industries and furniture manufacturing sectors and they were in the country to explore the possibility of making investment in Pakistan.
