HYDERABAD, Dec 10: Spea-kers at an international conference on Saturday described the 1973 Constitution as the root cause of problems being faced by Sindh.
They said the struggle for rights of Sindh needed to be converted into a human rights movement to seek international help. They termed the Kalabagh Dam unfeasible and said its construction would be considered violation of human rights on technical, environmental, economic grounds.
The Sindh National Council organized the two-day conference on “International human rights day and Sindhiat - 2005.”
People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Zafar Ali Shah criticized the government for creating what he called federally administered tribal areas in the shape of new districts whereas issues like the NFC award, water and dam remained unresolved.
“Punjab has not usurped our resources, it is basically the Constitution which has robbed us of our resources,” said lawyer Ghulam Rasool Unnar.
