KARACHI, Dec 10: Three ships carrying steel cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Sagamore, Conti Esperance, Ville de Mars, to unload and load containers, and Shalamar, to offload crude oil, were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Satha Bum, Golden Express and Maria N.M, while PONL Beuson Aires, Sondos, Sagamore, Ocean Flourish, Al-Fateh, Conti Esperance, Asian Excelsior, Kota Tabah and Shalamar are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was large where a total tonnage of 0.120m tons comprising 15,151 tons of export cargo and 0.105m tons of import tonnage, notably DAP fertilizer, coal and general cargo.

The activity is expected to slow down during the next couple of days owing to sharp decline in the arrivals of foreign flag vessels.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Dong He, Emerald Sea, with containers and Balgarka, with 26,000 tons of steel cargo.

The following ships are due on Monday: Han Jin Busan, with containers, Pacific Express and Annemieke, with general cargo.
