Anti-aircraft gun seized

QUETTA, Dec 9: Police seized an anti-aircraft gun and arrested a man from a house near the airport here on Friday. Speaking at a press conference here, SSP Ghulam Mohammad Dogar said that a police team raided a house in Killi Jumma Khan near the Quetta airport. The team seized an anti-aircraft gun with 350 rounds and arrested one Ghousuddin.

During initial investigation the accused told the police that the gun belonged to some other person who had brought it to his house two days ago.

Police have launched search for the other person.

FIRE INJURES BOY, GIRL: A five-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy received serious burn injuries when a fire engulfed their house in Sibi township, some 160 kilometres of here, on Friday.

According to reports reaching here, the blaze erupted on Friday afternoon when the children of one Mehboob Ali were playing with a matchbox.

The house was completely gutted by the fire and the valuables contained therein were destroyed.

Mr Ali’s two young children Abdul Ghani and Yasmeen received serious burn injuries and were taken to the Civil Hospital in Sibi for treatment.

MAN SHOT DEAD: The manager of a travel agency was shot dead near Balochistan University on Friday evening.

According police sources, two men opened fire on Syed Haider Raza as he got off a bus on the Sariab Road. He was hit by four bullets.

Police took the body to the Civil Hospital.

“It is a sectarian killing,” a police official said.
