Admission fee: BISE issues notification quite late

MIANWALI, Dec 9: Sargodha Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has extended the date for depositing fee for matriculation examination for private candidates from Dec 5 to 19. A notification to this effect was received late on Friday when many candidates had deposited double fee with the bank.
Meanwhile, the regular and private students complained that the BISE has only authorized main branch of the United Bank here to sell admission forms. Students living at Isakhel and Piplan have to travel 100 and 60 kilometres to collect admission forms.
The manager said the BISE supplied them forms in limited number.
Moreover, only the headmasters of government schools were authorized to attest admission forms which were absolutely insufficient against the growing number of private students.
When contacted, BISE chairman Prof Dr Afzal Rubani said the information about the sudden and unexpected extension was received late from the education secretary. He assured the candidates that extra fee paid would be refunded.
He said from the next session the admission forms would also be provided to bank branches at different places in the district.
About the attestation of admission forms, the chairman said the education minister or secretary were authorized to take decision.
It may be mentioned that the BISE asked the candidates to affix black and white photograph when this technique has almost been abolished and turned costly during these days.
