KARACHI: Sindh police to get Rs1bn


KARACHI, Dec 9: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui said on Friday that he had requested the President and the Prime Minister for education of two children of policemen on state expenses, quota of their children at private schools, treatment of injured cops at leading private hospitals and provision of same benefits and salary as being given to Punjab police.

Talking to newsmen at his office, he said that the President had promised to provide Rs1 billion for Sindh police while Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has pledged to provide money for renovation and improvement of police hospital in Karachi.

He urged the private schools and colleges to reserve at least two per cent seats for children of policemen.—PPI
