He warned the officials of stern action against them on any slackness in implementation of the orders in this regard.

Meanwhile, North Karachi Town Nazim Mohammad Hanif Soorti said that stern action would be taken against the absent town staff.

He said this while visiting offices of concerned departments in the central town office here on Thursday, said a statement.

Mr Soorti checked the attendance register in the offices to verify the attendance of the town staff and also ordered to deduct four days’ salary of the absentees.

Meanwhile, he also visited the “Wednesday Bachat Bazar” arranged in an area of the town and expressed his displeasure over the mismanagement in the bazar.

He directed the organizing committees of the bazar to arrange this bazar next time according to a map provided by the town administration. Broad passages should be built in the bazar to facilitate easy movement of the women customers.

Mr Soorti also directed the stall holders to register themselves with the town offices and get their identity cards from the office and display their cards on their chests. An anti-encroachment drive should be launched to remove encroachments from the surroundings of the bazar, he further directed.—APP
