ITTF Level-1 course ends

By A Sports Correspondent

KARACHI, Dec 8: Seven coaches including two women have successfully cleared the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Level-1 presenter course held under the supervision of ITTF expert, Marles Martins of Brazil, at Islamabad, PTTF announced on Thursday.

The seven were picked from amongst the 28 coaches to go through the two-day second stage of the course. This was preceded by a four-day first stage course. They were Farjad Saif, Irfanullah, Yasir Bhatti, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Saleem Abbas, Rahila Kashif and Ghazala Basit.

According to evaluation of the foreign expert, all the coaches who have gone through the two stages of the course are worthy of taking up coaching at school and club level. They will, however, have to undertake coaching for 30 hours out of which five hours under the supervision of former SAF games gold medallist and ITTF recognised Level-1 course presenter, Arif Khan, to qualify for ITTF certificate.

Arif who was sent to Maldives and Malawi by the ITTF on coaching assignments, assisted Martins in the course.
