KARACHI: Composite exams to benefit parents, says Hamida
KARACHI, Dec 8: The Sindh Education Minister, Dr Hamida Khuhro, on Thursday claimed that the decision of taking composite exams of classes 9th, 10th and 11th and 12th was taken in the greater interest of parents and education.
Talking to newsmen at her office, she said currently most part of an academic session was wasted in the preparation and taking exams owing to which teachers could not concentrate on passing on knowledge to the students.
“Decision to take composite exams on one hand will provide more time to the students for studies while it will also save exam fees, parents have to pay every year” she argued and criticized those opposing the decision for their vested interests.
“We have not received any single complaint from any parent in this regard so far.”
Regarding the suspension of Sindhi Adabi Board (SAB) magazine Sartioon’s editor and joint editor, Dr Khuhro said she had ordered for its closure but the SAB board of governors assured her of improving the standard of the magazine in question but no improvement was made, which led to the suspension of its editor and joint editor.—PPI
