Islambad under pressure

ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: Islamabad were still under pressure against Rawalpindi on day two of the PCB Inter-region Cricket championship final and trailed by 63 runs in their second innings.

After Rawalpindi hit up 321 to gain a first innings lead of 181, Islamabad finished the day on 118 for three at the Diamond Ground. Mirza Waseem Baig topscored with 58.

When Rawalpindi resumed their innings at their overnight score of 117-2, they were powered by Usman Ashraf who struck a fine 75. Umer Amin (47) and Zahid Mansoor (44) also chipped in to make useful contributions. Off spinner Kamran Hussain captured 5-72 to restrict Rawalpindi.

ISLAMABAD 140 in 48.2 overs (Imran Fazal 49, Taimur Javed 21, Imad Waseem 15; Haseeb Amjad 5-62, Akhtar Ayub 3-45, Yasim Murtaza 2-23) and 118-3 in 43 overs (Mirza Waseem Baig 58, Imran Fazal 24; Asif Mumtaz 1-21, Haseeb Amjad 1-46);

RAWALPINDI 321 in 82.1 overs (Usman Ashraf 75, Umer Amin 47, Zahid Mansoor 44, Yasim Murtaza 38, Haseeb Amjad 33; Kamran Hussain 5-72.
