Union council opposes new dam

NAWABSHAH, Dec 5: Members of the union council of Daleldero in Sakrand taluka passed a unanimous resolution against the construction of Kalabagh Dam. A meeting of the union council was held on Monday which was chaired by its convenor/naib nazim Mohammad Aslam Jokhio. The Nazim of the UC, Ghulam Hussain Chandio, moved the resolution against the dam. Terming it an anti-Sindh project, he said that it would destroy the province economically. The resolution was unanimously approved by all the members.

Members including Mohammad Shabbir, Aftab Keerio, Ali Nawaz Chandio, Mohammad Siddique, Ms Zahida Jokhio, Ms Mariam Unnar and others attended the meeting.

KILLED: A man was killed over a land dispute in Ismail Bhand Village, Doulatpur taluka, on Monday.

Mohammad Bux, 40, was shot dead by Abdullah alias Lalu as a result of the dispute over agricultural land in Ismail Bhand Village. The accused managed to escape. Soomar Khan Bhand, brother of deceased, lodged an FIR against Abdullah under section 302 QSS, 337H/2, 34 PPC at Mirza Bagh police station.

ACCIDENT: A teenaged boy was killed by a tractor at Dino Magsi bus stop, at Mehrabpur link road, on Sunday.

Hafiz Ghulam Mustafa 13, son of Abdul Rasool Magsi and student of class-VII was crossing the road at Dino Magsi bus stop near Sakrand and was hit by a speedy tractor, which resulted into his death.
