ISLAMABAD, Dec 5: A two-day inter-provincial conference on law and order will be held in Karachi from December 7-8 to evaluate the outcome of a recently conducted crackdown against extremists and form a joint strategy to combat terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, highway robberies and rape cases, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao told a press conference on Monday.

Mr Sherpao said he would preside over the meeting and it would be attended by chief secretaries and inspector generals of police of all provinces and regional heads of all civil armed forces.

He said under the light of feedback and recommendations of provinces, a joint strategy would be chalked out to control crimes.

An overall law and order situation would also be evaluated in the meeting with special reference to rape cases, discrimination against minorities and kidnapping for ransom, the minister said.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING: A two-day four-nation meeting on the issue of human trafficking would be held in Greece from Dec 15 on the request of Pakistan, the source said.

The meeting would be participated by Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Greece. Mr Sherpao accompanied by the director general of FIA would represent the country.
