FPCCI invited to Geneva meeting

ISLAMABAD, Dec 5: The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has invited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to represent Pakistan’s private sector at a three-day intergovernmental expert meeting on “enhancing the productive capacity of developing country firms through internationalization” scheduled for December 6-7 at Palais des Nations, Geneva.

According to apex chamber sources, former FPCCI president Tariq Sayeed, who would represent the country’s private sector, had already left for Geneva.

The expert meeting will focus on internationalization of developing country firms through outward foreign direct investment.

Mr Sayeed, who is also former chairman of the G77 Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will speak at one of the sessions “internationalization of developing country firms through outward FDI main trends and key issues”.—APP
