New ICMAP syllabus

KARACHI, Dec 5: The new syllabus introduced by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) would help improving professional standards of management accountancy in Pakistan, said ICMAP President Muhammad Rafi at a press briefing here on Monday.

He said that it had been constant efforts of the ICMAP to strengthen professional education and continuous training to its students. While restructuring the syllabus-2005, the National Council has laid emphasis on the requirements of all management accountancy profession’s stakeholders.

Mr Rafi said the syllabus-2005 understandably would ensure wider international recognition, acceptance and application of the ICMAP professional education and specialized training process. “It will equip students with upgraded skills and competencies demanded by users of their services and take care of benchmarks and prescriptions embodied in the International Federation of Accountant’s International Education Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS),” he added.—PPI
