No talks on deal with govt: Shahbaz

Published December 5, 2005

LONDON, Dec 4: President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday dismissed as speculation reports that the government was negotiating a deal with the Sharif family.

Asked if any senior government official or politician from the ruling party had got in touch with the Sharif family, he said there was no truth in such reports.

“No one from the government is in contact with me,” Mr Sharif said.

Answering a question about plans of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he did not give any definite date of his arrival in London but said the plans would be announced soon.

Sources in the Pakistan High Commission said no confirmed date was known about Nawaz Sharif’s arrival but he could be here in a week.
