Enterprise gold for Pakistan

KARACHI, Dec 4: Pakistani sailors, taking home advantage, seized Enterprise gold in the 12th South Asian Yachting Regatta at Marina Club on Sunday. Pakistan’s Mamoon Sadiq-Zahid Rauf, Rana Waqas-A Hameed and Shaharyar Arshad-Riaz Khan won all their races in the first competition against India and Sri Lanka to take an unassailable lead in the triangular event.

In the return races Pakistan beat India and Indians defeated Sri Lanka to occupy the second spot.

Pakistan will now face Sri Lanka in the last Enterprise race on Monday to complete a clean sweep.

Sri Lanka put up an impressive show in Optimist class in which the hosts could manage to get at second spot.

Lankans started off superbly outpacing Pakistan ‘A’ in the next race. In the return races they beat Pakistan ‘B’.—APP
