LAHORE, Dec 4: Punjab Population Welfare Minister Nasim Lodhi has said that the provincial government has allocated Rs150 million to every district for funding three-year education and training programmes.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Children Complex here in connection with the Universal Children’s Day on Sunday, the minister said that health and education sector reforms programmes had been launched in the province. Missing facilities would also be provided in the schools. The programmes had been lauded by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
She said the provincial government was spending Rs3 billion on provision of the latest healthcare facilities to the people every year with special attention to healthcare for children.
Students from different city district schools presented tableaus, ‘bhangra’ and skits on the occasion. Special children presented dance. A magic show was also arranged on the occasion.
