KARACHI: Two student activists shot at, wounded

KARACHI, Dec 4: One of the two activists of a student wing, who were shot at and wounded by unknown persons late on Saturday night in F.B. Area, is stated to be in serious condition under going treatment at a private hospital.

Two activists of the Islami Jamiat Talaba were injured when unknown persons opened fire at them in F.B. Area late Saturday night. Police said that IJT Secretary Information Ahmer Khan and IJT in charge of college committee Tariq Moosa were sitting near Nagori Milk shop, Yousaf Plaza when unknown persons on a motorcycle pulled up and sprayed them with bullets.

The wounded were rushed to the Ziauddin Hospital, where they were provided treatment. Hospital sources described the condition of Tariq Moosa as serious. He had sustained bullet wounds in head and leg. Later, both the wounded were referred to the Aga Khan Hospital.

An FIR was lodged at the Yousaf Plaza police station on the complaint of Ahmer Khan.

An IJT press release claimed that the attack was carried out by the activists of the APMSO.

ACCIDENT: A 10-year-old boy died in an accident on Sunday.

Police said the boy was crossing Super Highway near Al Asif Square when a speeding bus knocked him down. Police sent his body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
