Army to defend title

LAHORE, Dec 2: Army will defend its title in the 14th National baseball championship to be held at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex from Sunday to Friday.

President Pakistan Federation of Baseball and Softball Shaukat Javed told a press conference on Friday that in all eight teams would take part in the championship.

Besides the defending champions, Wapda, Police, four provinces and Federal Areas were the other teams, he said.

He said that best 40 probables of the championship would be selected to attend the national camp being set up to pick Pakistan team for the Asia Cup to be held in Rawalpindi from April 20-25.

He said that only eight teams of Asia would take part in the Asia Cup while invitations had been extended to almost 20 Asian countries.
