GUJRANWALA, Dec 2: The robbers in half a dozen strikes in the city and its suburban areas robbed five houses and took away a copper and silver laden truck worth Rs4 million. Eight outlaws entered the houses of three brothers Jamil, Idris and Shafiq in Habibpura locality of Kamoki by scaling boundary walls. They locked the family in various rooms, collected cash, gold jewellery and other valuables worth Rs1.2 million and escaped.

Six robbers forced their entry into house of Fiaz in Kot Rafiq locality of Kamoki. They gathered gold jewellery, cash and other valuables and ran away when the family raised an alarm.

Four bandits sneaked into house of Rana Hasan Ali in the same locality and locked the family in a room. They collected cash, jewellery and electronic goods and beat up the family on raising an alarm.

Six car riders intercepted a truck loaded with copper and silver near Khiali Shahpur. They tied the hands and feet of driver Naeem and conductor Babu Salim with a rope, threw them in fields and drove away with the truck.

PLEA ACCEPTED: A local Anti-Terrorism Court accepted the plea of former Sialkot jail superintendent Sikandar Hayat for his release on parole for one-day here on Friday.

The judge directed the police and central jail administration for necessary arrangements in this regard.

According to report, Sikandar Hayat filed an application pleading court that he wanted to participate in rasmay daswan of his mother on Dec 4. After listening to the arguments, judge Mujahid Mustaqim Ahmad granted him permission.

The court adjourned the hearing of case till Dec 9.
