KARACHI, Dec 2: Seven vessels carrying containers and to load rice and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Shalamar, to offload crude oil, Al-Tatah and Fu Niu Shan, to offload and load general cargo, and APL Orchid, to unload and load containers, were berthed after the departure of six.

The ships, which departed included Selon, Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Sun, APL Orchid, Lykes Racer and Futami, while Shalamar and Eagle Express are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk totalling 0.107m tons comprising 23,641 tons of export tonnage, including 4,272 tons of rice and 83,360 tons of import cargo, which also included 3,189 tons of imported raw sugar.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Rouba, to load 2,800 tons of cement, Eastern Sea, to unload and load containers, Nememcha, to load 23,000 tons of rice, Paraskevi-2, African Shark and Xian RuiMoy, with steel and steel billets.
