PCB seeks approval from BCCI
LAHORE, Nov 30: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has written a letter to the newly elected body of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) drawing its attention to approve the itinerary of the next tour of their team to Pakistan scheduled for Jan-Feb 2006.
PCB director cricket operations Salim Altaf, said that he has written a letter to the BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah on Wednesday to consider the itinerary as top priority.
“The matter is getting late and an early decision on this can help us a lot to make maximum better arrangements for the series,” he said.
The PCB has sent the itinerary, also suggesting a Test match in Karachi, some two months ago. But the internal political affairs of the BCCI has been delaying the approval. Salim said that he congratulated the new body with the hope better relations would develop between the two boards.
In the past, a delayed approval of the itinerary of the team’s visit to Pakistan in 2004 had created a lot of problems for the PCB in making arrangements.
The itinerary was approved 22 days before the tour after India refused to play a Test in Karachi.
