Multan demoted after defeat

LAHORE, Nov 30: Multan were relegated to the second tier of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy cricket championship after going down by eight wickets against Faisalabad in the Gold League match at Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Multan’s final two wickets fell without any addition to the overnight score of 171, which left Faisalabad chasing a small target of 77.

The visitors lost two wickets in achieving their fourth victory which enabled them to finish on top of the standings.

Faisalabad meet second-placed Sialkot in the five-day final at Qadhafi Stadium in Lahore from Dec 4. Multan, on the other hand, will figure in the Silver League competition next season.
