Motorcyclist shot dead on resistance

OKARA, Nov 30: A motorcyclist was shot dead by five robbers when he along with his two bike riders put up resistance on Hujra-Mandi Ahmadabad Road on Tuesday night. Later, the police claimed to have arrested them following a tip-off.

Reports said the dacoits were looting passengers at night near Jassoki village when Ghulam Rasool Zaman, Sabir Husain and Dr Shahzad arrived there. The robbers intercepted them and tried to take away a motorcycle and cash worth Rs11,300. On resistance, the outlaws opened fire, killing Ghulam Rasool on the spot.

On receiving information, Hujra Shah Muqeem police, led by DPO Malik Tahir Mehmood, conducted a raid at a farmhouse at Tibba Bastan village and arrested Khurshid Kharl, Sajid, Himayat, Javid and Sarwar.
