Protest against water shortage

By Our Correspondent

DADU, Nov 30: Farmers of the Johi taluka took out a procession on Wednesday in protest against shortage of water in Pahore and Patoro waterways. The protesters after marching through various roads reached the press club and hold a demonstration for two hours.

Abadgar Association leaders Bakhshal Solangi, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari and Hamzo Lund led the protesters.

They said that due to artificial shortage of water in the Johi branch two waterways, Patoro and Pahore, had dried up.

They said that crops of wheat and vegetables on hundreds of acres were destroyed due to water shortage.

The protesters alleged that irrigation officials were selling water to influential landlords.

They said they had complained to high irrigation authorities but in vain.
