FAISALABAD, Nov. 29: Six murder convicts belonging to a family will be hanged in the local district jail on Wednesday (today) morning for killing three of their rivals.

Convicts Muhammad Ishaq, Manzoor Ahmed, Ghulam Mustafa, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Ilyas and Jawed Iqbal, all Jats closely related to each other, had murdered their rivals in Nishatabad 10 years ago.

They were awarded death sentence by the local sessions court which was upheld by superior courts.

The president of Pakistan, after three extensions, rejected the mercy petition after their relatives failed to seek pardon from the aggrieved family.
