Quake relief fund audit assured

Islamabad, Nov 29: The president, Pakistan Muslim League and former Prime Minister Ch. Shujat Hussain assured the Belgium Parliamentary delegation here on Monday that of complete transparency, monitoring and auditing of relief funds.

Addressing the Belgian Parliamentary Delegation at a supper hosted in their honour the PML top leader said the government had developed a foolproof mechanism in this regard and they had also established a high-powered parliamentary committee consisting of all the parliamentary leaders from all the opposition parties.

Ch. Shujat Hussain welcomed the colleagues from the Belgian parliament and members of media and said that the Media and the government was grateful to the parliamentarians, press and people of government of Belgium for their solidarity with Pakistan and its people during the tragic earthquake. He said Belgium held a position of great importance because it had the headquarters both European Union as well as the Nato.
