KARACHI: KUTS election results

KARACHI, Nov 29: The Karachi University Teachers’ Society (KUTS) has elected Sarwar Nasim of the Department of Mass Communications; University of Karachi as its president and Prof Dr Aqeel Ahmed as secretary for the year 2005-06.

According to the unofficial results of the KUTS elections 2005-06, which were held last week but counting of votes was suspended owing to teachers’ boycott of exams, Dr Abid Hasnain was elected as the vice-president and Masooma Mir was elected as treasurer of the society.

Farhat Husain of the Library and Information Science Department and Tanveer Abbasi was elected as joint secretary of the KUTS while counting of votes for the election of members of the governing body was in progress till filing of this report.—PPI
