By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 28: A mild earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Quetta valley on Monday morning. Although there were no reports of casualties or damage to property, officials of the district administration said the earthquake sparked panic among the people, forcing them to take shelter in open places.

“We have not received any quake victim in the civil hospital,” hospital sources said.

According to the meteorological department, the quake struck the provincial capital at 10:36am and its epicentre was located some 550 kms north-west of Peshawar in Balochistan.

“The tremors were of mild intensity and were felt only in Quetta city and its surrounding areas,” officials said.
