Volunteer students

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 27: A batch of 20 students of Islamia University on Saturday left for Lahore en route to Azad Kashmir to join the national volunteer movement for the relief work at Muzaffarabad and other earthquake-hit areas.

The squad of students has been arranged on the directive of Punjab Governor/Chancellor of Punjab University Khalid Maqbool.

IUB students, led by vice-chancellor Prof Dr Bilal Ahmed Khan, will join students of other universities of the Punjab in Governor’s House in Lahore on Monday. The governor and other government functionaries will brief them about the nature of their duties.

Students are expected to perform volunteer services for a week in areas stricken by the earthquake.
