RAMALLAH, Nov 26: Jailed Palestinian uprising leader Marwan Barghouti and other activists were the biggest vote-getters in primaries of the ruling Fatah movement, according to preliminary results on Saturday.
The primary was emerging as major victory of the Barghouti-led ‘young guard’ over old timers who for years had refused to budge from leadership positions. The internal poll will determine the list of candidates for Jan 5 parliament elections. —APP
