Imrans share limelight

LAHORE, Nov 26: Imran Malik and Mohammad Imran shared eight wickets to help Sialkot beat Multan by 92 runs in the National Inter-region under-19 cricket tournament at the Gymkhana Ground in Okara on Saturday.

Set a target of 247, Multan were all out in the second innings for 154 with Imran Malik taking four for 49 and Mohammad Imran, four for 58. The latter finished with match figures of eight for 89.

Sohaib Maqsood shone for the losers with a defiant 77, a knock laced with three fours.

A fine century by Mohammad Ibrahim and a six-wicket haul by leg-spinner Yasim Murtaza enabled Rawalpindi to defeat Faisalabad by seven wickets at the Bohranwali Ground in Faisalabad.

Faisalabad, forced to follow-on, showed fighting spirit by setting Rawalpindi a target of 181.

At Bohranwali Ground, Faisalabad: Rawalpindi beat Faisalabad won by seven wickets.

RAWALPINDI 345-8 declared (Zahid Mansoor 106, Usman 66; Mohammad Laeeq 4-94) and 181-3 (Mohammad Ibrahim 101); FAISALABAD 180 (Qasim Khan 70 not out; Yasim Murtaza 5-45) and 345 (Mohammad Laeeq 111, Adnan Munir 64; Yasim Murtaza 6-166).

APP adds from Karachi: Opener Ramiz Raja smashed a brilliant unbeaten 154 to power Karachi Urban to an eight-wicket victory over Lahore Shalimar at PCB Academy Ground.

Karachi Urban, who had conceded an 80-run lead on the first innings, hit back with Ramiz smashing 22 fours and three sixes in his 197-ball innings as the home team won with more than 12 overs to spare.
