KARACHI, Nov 26: Seven ships carrying containers and to load naphtha and fish are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only one container vessel, Sagamore to unload and load containers, was berthed after the departure of eight.

The ships, which departed included Sea Beta, Y.M. Fortune, Sagamore, Global Prosperity, Iron Butterfly, Johar, Sea Life and Sargodha, while Rashleigh, Aonoble, Erikousa are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest for the second day owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, falling to 51,837 tons. Export tonnage totalled 17,960 tons including 6,588 tons of rice and 33,877 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Satra Tiga, to load naphtha, Iran Baluchistan, Pu He, Sima Tara, and Sea Crane, with containers and Yu Hsiang Maru, to load fish.

The following ships are due on Monday: Manora Naree, with 28,000 tons of steel scarp, Swat, with crude oil, Chem Lily, with 7,200 tons of palm oil, Hanjin Busan, with containers, Yannis, Asian Exclsior, with 23,690 and 43,351 tons of DAP fertilizer, Morning Sun, with 555 cars, Sapanca, with 15,900 tons of flour, Lo He and Wong, with general cargo.
