Ahmad’s hat trick goes in vain

LAHORE, Nov 25: Five goal in the last two chukkers, helped Master Paints Reds cruise into the finals of the polo cup beating Millat Tractors 7 1/2-4 on Friday.

The winners had a half goal handicap. Millat went ahead 2- 1 1/2 in the first chukker. Shahzad Aziz and Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana scored a goal each. For the winners Ali Malik struck.

Millat maintained the lead 4- 2 1/2 in the second chukker as Ahmed Nawaz completed his hat trick scoring back-to-back goals. Aamir Shahid replied for the winners.

Masters scored three goals in the third chukker through Naveed M Sheikh, Tanvir Tariq and Ali Malik. They added two in the fourth when Naved and Aamir Shahid scored one each to complete the tally.

Two goals each by Mohsin Khosa and Yaqub Sial helped Jeuni beat Master Paints Yellow in the subsidiary semifinals of two chukkers.

Jeuni beat Shahpur Sabre 4- 1 1/2. Master Paints Yellow downed Shahpur Sabre 5- 1/2.
