KARACHI, Nov 25: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said the mission of MQM is to solve the problems of deprived lot of people and serve the masses without any discrimination.

He was addressing an important meeting at MQM International Secretariat in London, said a statement received here on Thursday night.

MQM Coordination Committee Convener Dr Imran Farooq, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad, Senior Deputy Convener Coordination Committee Tariq Javed, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghauri, Sindh Minister for Labour and Industries Adil Siddiqui, Sindh Senior Minister for Excise and Taxation Syed Sardar Ahmed, Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal and other members of the committee attended the meeting.

Altaf Hussain stressed upon carrying out development and welfare oriented works to bring about positive change in people’s life regardless of their social status, colour, language, religion or creed.

“Particular attention has to be paid towards launching of projects to ensure provision of water, sanitation, education and other things of basic and primary need,” he maintained.

He underlined the need for steps to bring the education standard of government schools at par with the private. Serious efforts were required, he said, to make available upgraded health care facilities at government hospitals at affordable rates to the poor.

He underscored the significance of team work and urged the federal and provincial ministers, MNAs, MPAs, city, district and town nazims of the MQM to adopt the same for achieving targeted goals. “Collective efforts should be made with common interests for accomplishment of a mission,” he added.—APP
