ISLAMABAD, Nov 24: The ICCI has asked the government to allow industrialists to generate cheap electricity. The committee of the economic relations of parliament had allowed the industrialists for generating cheap electricity but the decision has not been implemented yet.

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Abdul Rauf in a statement appealed to the prime minister to issue the directives for the implementation of this decision.

Mr Rauf further said that with the implementation of the decision Pakistani export could compete in the international market, holding positive impact on economy of Pakistan.

He said that independence in electricity generation was a commendable step which would decrease the cost of production resulting cheap and good quality products.

He expressed his views that the decisions taken by the government show that government seriously intends to free Pakistan from all economic crises.

The ICCI president further said that industry could not depend on WAPDA because it failed to constantly supply cheap electricity as minor hurdle in the electric supply may cause a huge dilemma, causing not only wastage of time but also increases the production cost.
