MUMBAI, Nov 24: Indian banks need to raise more funds to feed the demand from companies expanding their operations in Asia’s third-largest economy, and to meet Basel II capital standards, the central bank said on Thursday. India’s rapidly growing economy, forecast to expand by 7 to 7.5 per cent in the year to March 2006, is fuelling demand for funds from power plant owners to textile makers.—Reuters
