Benazir in Geneva to attend hearing

ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: Former Prime Minister and chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Benazir Bhutto has reached Geneva to attend hearing of money laundering case against her, her husband Asif Ali Zardari and their Swiss agent Jens Schlegelmilch, PPP spokesman Senator Farhat Ullah Babar told Dawn on Wednesday.

The spokesman said Asif Ali Zardari who was currently in New York, would not attend the hearing due to bad health.

Ms Bhutto had already appeared in two previous hearings of the case while her husband could not attend any of the previous hearings. A same case has also being tried against former prime minister and her husband in an accountability court in the country since 1997.—Staff Reporter
