LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Nov 23: The Bara Peace Committee on Tuesday recovered a pick-up and arrested a carjacker hours after the vehicle had been snatched on gun-point in Shalobar area. said that proclaimed offender Anwar Khan forcibly snatched the passenger pick-up at Arjali Khwar from its owner Shah Jee Zakhakhel. Some women and children were in the pick-up.

The owner of the vehicle immediately reported the matter to peace committee activists who blocked all entry and exit points to and from Bara Bazaar.

Peace committee activists overpowered Anwar at Bara Bazaar and took the vehicle into their custody.

They also foiled an attempt by Anwar’s accomplices to free him.

Anwar is also wanted by the administration in a murder case.

GAMBLING DEN: Residents of Jamalkhel locality in Jamrud tehsil have appealed to Khyber Agency senior officials to help close down an illegal gambling den in their area.

The residents of the area alleged that they made a number of complaints to the Jamrud administration but in vain.
