KARACHI, Nov 23: Seven ships carrying vehicles, coal and steel pipes are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, PONL Buenos Aires, Kuo Hung and Sea Beta, to unload and load containers, Zara-3, to offload and load general cargo, and Tor Anglia, to offload vehicles, were berthed.

Sailing was active as eight ships, Yang Jiang He, Maersk Alaska, PONL Buenos Aires, Iran Yamin, Shalamar, Rickmers Munbaim, Liang Qiang and To Anglia departed, while Gulf Pride, Berana, APL Cairo, Kuo Hung, Xin Qiang, Hyundai Sprinter and Lake Ranger are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest as the total tonnage fell to 66,287 from over 0.120m tons a day earlier. The export totalled 24,787 tons, including 4,048 tons of rice and import cargo 41,500 tons.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Marine Blue, with 50 vehicles, Y.M. Fortune, Golden Express, Argonaut, with containers, Lrika, with 42,406 tons of cola, Sea Life, with steel coils.
