BRISBANE, Nov 22: Sidelined Australian all-rounder Shane Watson said on Tuesday he was aiming for the tour of South Africa to make his comeback from shoulder surgery.
Watson, 24, said he had begun fitness work following surgery on his dislocated left shoulder suffered in Australia’s first Test victory over the West Indies in Brisbane a fortnight ago.
He admits he does not know when he will play again and that when he does it will take some time to regain confidence after damaging his shoulder while diving for the ball.
Watson said Australia’s South African tour starting on Feb 24 with the first of six One-day Internationals was his goal.
“It (the recovery) is looking like two to three months but I don’t know exactly,” he said.—AFP
