Cuba to set up embassy next year

ISLAMABAD, Nov 22: Cuba will open its embassy in the federal capital next year, this was revealed by Cuban Foreign Minister Selipe Perez Rodreguez here while meeting Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, chairman Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Cuban minister stated that his country had sent a 1,091 medical contingent comprising 590 doctors, 279 paramedics and 122 back-up staff who are rendering medical assistance to the quake victims in Rawalakot, Mansehra and Garhi Habibullah.

He said till now hundreds of affectees have been treated at the Cuban field hospital in the quake-hit areas.

Senator Sayed thanked the Cuban government and nation for helping pakistan in hour of trial. Perhaps the Cuban medical mission was the largest in number from abroad, he added.
