Inspection of PR tracks

Published November 22, 2005

LAHORE, Nov 21: The General Manager (Operations) of the Pakistan Railways, Saleemur Rahman Akhoond, will be inspecting tracks and various stations in the Lahore division from Tuesday (today). For the purpose, he will visit Sangla Hill, Shahkot and Faisalabad as he is also holding the charge of the Federal Government Inspector of Railways (FGIR), it is learnt.

Officials say the inspection of the tracks and stations is a routine matter. Under the Railways Act, the FGIR is bound to make periodical or other inspections of the tracks, rolling stock and other installations and equipment with a view to determine whether these are fit for operation.
